Rahman’s Ada Remix
Rahman in collaboration with Nokia recently announced a remix contest in which we have to remix two songs from Rahman’s forthcoming Hindi soundtrack ‘Ada’. One minute clips of the two songs with just the vocals are available in remixrahmansada.com. In the same site, Nokia XpressMusic mixer is also available, which we can use to remix the songs. With XpressMusic mixer it just takes a few seconds to make the remix which makes it restricting, less challenging and more fun. We can also create our own remix and upload it. I created my remix (without using Nokia XpressMusic mixer). I don’t know if my version is at par, but it just feels good to arrange a Rahman’s composition.

not so gud.it started wel.shudnt hav repeated d tune at gulfisha again.d terific start ws missd in d rest of d song.d drum ws gud.think u cud do it much beter.wid d abov corectionz.

I concur a bit with the above.. I really liked the rhythm when it started, but it doesn’t match exactly with the song, especially at the gul gul gul line.. But fundamentally it’s very good, and I think you can be proud of the fact that u came up with this without the weird Nokia Remixer.. It’s way too restrictive to be part of this competition, there is hardly any control given to u except volume..

Doesnt sound professional. Remember whole india is taking part. So make sure u get it right. I didn like it. Begining started good. Besides my advice try to get samples which have natural instrumental sound rather than computerized instruments. Good luck.

I very well know that there is something wrong in my mix and I wanted to hear it from everyone.
And the least thing that I expect is winning in this contest. I am novice when it comes to music making and I am aware of my limitations. It is just an attempt to improve myself and learn more.

You should have tried remixing Gumsum from ADA.. that song has more twists n turns N thus offerin a greater scope

Your Remix is out of groove and tempo.
Too much of change-overs and fill-ins.
Stick to one groove.

If u are wondering what is the tempo, it is 122.5 bpm. Hope it helps u to synchronize the song with the beats.

Hi Suresh,
I appreciate your efforts in remixing the tracks. However, I do feel that the rhythm do not match. But then again, don’t worry much about it as the track is too short to be remixed anyway. It’s also hard to judge a remix based on a sample of 45s.
